Gluten-Free Sourdough Workshop in Detroit: A Beautiful Beginning Rooted in Nourishment + Community
There are certain experiences that stay with you long after the tables are cleared, the dishes are washed, and the final loaf is pulled from the oven.
Our recent Gluten-Free Sourdough Workshop in Detroit was one of those experiences.
What began as a simple idea, gathering together to learn how to make nourishing gluten-free sourdough, quickly became something so much deeper: connection, confidence, healing, laughter, storytelling, and the reminder that slowing down to create food with intention still matters.
And honestly… seeing the messages, photos, and videos come in afterward of everyone baking their loaves at home has absolutely made my heart flutter.
This is only the beginning
Why Gluten-Free Sourdough Matters?
For many people navigating a gluten-free lifestyle, finding bread that feels nourishing, satisfying, and enjoyable can feel frustrating.
That’s one of the reasons I became so passionate about learning and teaching gluten-free sourdough baking.
This style of baking:
- prioritizes intentional ingredients
- supports slower, more mindful food preparation
- removes many unnecessary additives found in packaged breads
- creates a deeper appreciation for the process of nourishment
During the workshop, we walked through:
- gluten-free sourdough starter education
- fermentation basics
- ingredient selection
- proofing guidance
- beginner-friendly baking practices
- and how to simplify the process so it actually feels approachable
And yes… we also enjoyed my infamous vegan spinach artichoke dip together too.
The Most Meaningful Part? Watching People Believe They Could Do It.
One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching someone go from:
“I could never do this…” to “Wait… I actually think I can.”
That shift matters.
Because this workshop was never only about bread.
It was about:
- confidence
- nourishment
- slowing down
- learning something new
- reconnecting with our kitchens
- and remembering that wellness can feel grounding instead of overwhelming
Seeing participants already baking their own loaves at home only days later has been incredibly emotional in the best way.
The photos.
The messages.
The excitement.
It’s been such a beautiful reminder that people are craving experiences that feel real, intentional, and community-centered.

The response to these workshops has honestly blown me away.
Because of that, I created a private Gluten-Free Sourdough Insider List where those on the list receive:
- early access to upcoming workshops
- priority registration opportunities
- first access to limited baking kit spots
- future gluten-free sourdough experiences before they open publicly
Some workshops and specialty kit options are intentionally kept small, so joining the list is the best way to stay connected.

There’s something incredibly special about watching people gather around food again.
- Not rushed.
- Not distracted.
- Not disconnected.
Just humans learning, creating, sharing, and nourishing together.
Thank you to everyone who trusted me to be part of your gluten-free sourdough journey so far.
I truly cannot wait for what’s ahead.
