Why I Chose This Book – Lindsaya’s Perspective

The words Let Them entered my life during one of my hardest seasons.

During COVID, my explant surgery, and a series of betrayals, I came across a poem with a photo of the words "Let Them" tattooed on the author’s of the original poem—and the message resonated deeply. It became a catalyst for my healing, reminding me to release resistance, stop trying to control what I couldn’t, and embrace trust in my journey.

When I discovered that Mel Robbins had expanded Let Them into a framework for self-liberation, I was excited to explore how she interpreted this phrase and turned it into a teachable mindset shift. When the book launched in December 2024, I immediately hoped this would be our second Collective read of 2025—and here we are!

Why I Love the Collective Book Club Format

What I love about our Collective Book Club is its convenience and collaborative learning experience. Reading a book alone offers growth, but discussing it with a community amplifies my insight and understanding in ways I wouldn’t achieve on my own.

Each week, I hear different perspectives, real-life applications, and unique takeaways from other Warriors. Whether someone is reading for the first time or re-reading through a new lens, our conversations help bring deeper clarity and meaning to the book.

With our shame-free approach, even if I don’t finish a chapter or miss a session, I still walk away feeling empowered and inspired.


Leila’s Perspective – The Impact of Mel Robbins

Mel Robbins is, to me, the living embodiment of Maya Angelou’s famous quote: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

I have forgotten the first time Mel entered my echo chamber. Maybe it was an Instagram post or a YouTube video. Maybe it was during her High Five era or her 5 Second Rule era. I don’t recall if she was talking about the sheer struggle of getting out of bed or sharing an inspired thought while out on a walk.

But here’s what I do remember—how she made me feel.

I remember feeling seen, like she had reached through the noise and found me. I remember feeling understood, like she was speaking a language I didn’t even know I needed to hear. I remember thinking how refreshingly real and unapologetically vulnerable she was. The kind of person you could sit with—no pretense, no masks—just raw honesty about who she is and, in turn, who we all are. I didn’t just like her voice; I craved it. I wanted more of her in my life.

And I still do. Every time she crosses my feed, it’s the same spark.

I love her relentless curiosity. I love how she dissects life’s hardest parts, breaking them down into simple, manageable pieces, then hands us tools—fun, practical, and shockingly effective—to carry through it all.

I say all this because I’m beyond excited to dive into Mel’s latest book, Let Them, in the company of the Wellness Warrior Collective Book Club. There’s something powerful about reading in community—about unpacking insights together, reflecting, growing.

May we, together, uncover new layers of our own strength and resilience.


Shay’s Perspective – Why Let Them Might Shift My Entire Life

I tend to gravitate toward personal development books more than anything. When I found out that our very own book club added The Let Them Theory to the roster, I was more than excited. It’s important that I keep my heart and mind open to new perspectives that can ultimately add more ease and simplicity.

Though I haven’t read it yet, the title alone has made me excited and interested in amplifying my own growth.

From what I’ve heard, The Let Them Theory is all about freeing yourself from unnecessary stress by offering the idea that we only control our own opinion, actions, and reactions. Instead of arguing or trying to change things that are out of our control, we get to simply let them.

It sounds like a simple concept; however, I’m looking forward to Robbins breaking it down.

There have been moments where I often find myself worrying about what others think or feeling bothered when people don’t behave the way I expect them to. Whether at work, or even on social media, it’s easy to get caught up in the need for approval or control.

Can you imagine the peace that could come from simply letting people be who they are, without letting it affect your own happiness and life as a whole? That’s the freedom I desire to gain from reading this book.
